What's the IR on your Target VISA?

And while you're at it, what are your scores along with your limit?

I'm trying to figure out if I can expect an IR reduction.  I just called and asked and the CSR said to call back in a few days.  (Odd, but my statement is getting ready to drop, so perhaps that's the hangup.)  I'm getting frustrated because this IR seems to be constantly growing.  I tried to BT the balance to a new BofA card, but I wasn't approved.  My acct history with them is perfect and I've had the card since 2002.

Thanks in advance!

When my limit was at $5k my IR was 9.99 then they bumped my CL last October to $7k the IR changed to 12.99 but had gone down to 11.99 ant the only score I pulled lately is my EX score - 712.

Re: What's the IR on your Target VISA?

Very interesting, thanks!

You gave me an idea -- to try and track down what my IRs were in the past.  I was bumped to 7k on my Sept 8th statement, and at that time the rate was 18.99.  Same rate for the Oct statement, but in Nov and Dec it was 21.99.  The Jan statement was 20.99.

Looking back a few more months I see it's just screwy.  Argh!  The only thing I can deduce is that it goes along w/ my scores.  They were best from June to Oct 08 -- 693-698.  I guess this is another motivator to keep those scores in check.

Jan 09 -- 20.9

Nov/Dec 08 -- 21.99

June/Oct -- 18.99

Mar/May -- 19.99 (Mar 08 -- Auto-cli from 1k to 5k)

Jan/Feb -- 21.49

Nov/Dec 07 -- 21.74

Jun/Oct 07 -- 22.24

As an aside -- when I called to ask about my IR, there was an option in the automated menu to "listen to our policy on credit limit increases".  I pressed the button expecting to hear the policy, but instead heard, "We're sorry, your account is not eligible for an increase".  Well, doh, I didn't WANT an increase, I just wanted to hear the policy.  I explained this to the CSR after it happened, but I don't think s/he understood my complaint.  I'll try calling back M-F during normal business hours.

Re: What's the IR on your Target VISA?

My IR seems to be stable not going above 14 and I did the same thing when I called last month to listen to the policy of CLI - it's was an automated but I was able to talk to a CSR and explained to her that I really don't want to request and she said it's not a hard pull and she told me anyway why I'm not eligible "she said that since I just got an increase last October, it's too soon to have another one" and so far they give an auto CLI every 6 months with my case, by the way I did received the letter and that's what it's stated.  I started with them with $200 for about 6-8 years (store card) then did not use it for a year in half then upgraded me to Visa with $1k limit.  I got some success with Cap One 2-3 months ago to decrease my IR and I used my Target IR sample and pretty much almost match it.

Excellent!  My Cap1 is at 10.14, lol, I wonder if they'd want to wheel and deal with that one!

The CSR did tell me to call back in a few days (a few days???) to ask about a reduction.  I'll try using the Cap1 as an example.  I also have a BofA card at 9.99, so perhaps that will help, too.

Thanks again for the feedback everyone!  Mucho appreciated!
