"Application under review" message

I applied for a Chase card and it said something like - We are reviewing your application off line and will notify you within 30 days if you are approved or not.

I have never received a message like this, do you think I will be approved?

it just depends but on the upside, alot of people have posted getting a denial and were able to call for a recon and got approved...!! think positive!! good luck!

Call the credit departments number NOW before you get a denial.  1-888-245-0625.  Call before the weekend and you'll probably have your card by Wednesday....

I had the same 30 day message.  I called about two days after I applied.  They declined me.  I was able to talk myself into a card though with a 3K CL.  I even had a charge off with them in the past which they questioned me on.  They still gave me another chance.

I called the number like you said, the rep reviewed the app, verified some info, and said that she was going to "recommend" that I be approved with a $1000 limit and should receive more info in 7-10 days.

I have a chase platinum card already but it only has a $200 cl and they won't up it but I have a flawless history with them. It sounds like I will be approved, what do you think?

They gave me the same "recommend" speech, but I got the card about 7 days later.

I applied TODAY, for Visa Signature, and got the same message, then called the # above (thanks) and was approved for $15,000.  She offered 20K, but I felt guilty.

If I do get it, I think I will call them back in about 6 months and request the cards be combined and double the limit, maybe triple.

I got the same 30-day message when I apped for the KISS Platinum Visa. It's the only card I've applied for that wasn't an instant approval. A week or so later I got a call at home from a Chase rep who verified my information, asked me about a small medical judgment on my report, and then said he would recommend me for approval with a $2,000 limit. Subject to back end approval, or course.... A week later, my card arrived.

So that message isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'm getting the impression that it might be SOP for Chase.
