Print out your credit report and bring it with prof of income and down payment to credit union near you let see

What is current on your credit file that is OPEN good or bad?

What do you want to buy, Used/New?

How much cash down you have?

+1 on this and you will save some money since even though you may get approved at the dealership with a lower rate the will charge you an outrageous finance charge where Cap1 shouldn't but YMMV
