Called csr today and they looked at my credit and said they can give me freedom if i close out slate

I have to pay my slate to $0 first... at least ill get cash back $200 after spending $500

Gotcha. So its not a product change then? They are closing Slate and issuing a new account for Freedom?

Sounds like they don't want to extend you more credit than the $500(?) they have already extended to you on the Slate. The way I see it you have two options. Close the Slate and get the Freedom or stop being so app insane and wait for all those cards to age and those INQs to fall off and they would probably have no problem issuing you the Freedom with the Slate with a much better limit.

I think you should reject the offer, age your accounts for one year, then apply for Freedom again. You will be in much better shape.

Now onto the topic. I wouldn't risk it. Chase might change stories after they get a look at all the new accounts, inquiries, balance, etc. It could be a trap to do AA/Decline.

I agree with everyone else you shouldn't have applied. That was another hard inq and another request for new credit with Chase when what you should really be doing is setting yourself up for the future. Calling in everyday won't help your case either.

If you really want the Freedom right now take them up on their offer. But don't keep calling in about it until you have completely paid off the Slate and are ready to make the change.

Don't do it. Keep Slate and get the Freedom in a year. A higher credit score is worth more than a sign-up bonus.

I kinda disagree with the others. At least freedom has a type of rewards. Then again, I wouldnt take a card with a 500 limit so it may be best to keep slate. I would suggest to stop apping! :D
