So I took the bait :smileymad: on the pre-approval I received from GE Chevron/Texaco for the gas card and was denied! I don't get the response, especially having so many GE cards for sometime now and in good standing. They are truly strange at times with their cards. Below is the response, and not even sure if they have a recon number or if it is even worth it!

Our decision was based in part on a credit scoring system that was used to evaluate your application. The reason's where you did not score well compared with the other applicants have been determined and are listed below:

	LACK OF RECENT CONSUMER FINANCE COMPANY ACCOUNT INFORMATION AMOUNT OWED ON REVOLVING ACCOUNTS NO RECENT REVOLVING BALANCES NUMBER OF CONSUMER FINANCE COMPANY ACCOUNTS

Then they further state on the letter they pulled TU:

Your Credit Score: 064

Date: 03/24/2012

Scores range from a low of 000 to a high of 999.

Key factors that adversely affected your credit score:

LACK OF RECENT CONSUMER FINANCE COMPANY ACCOUNT INFORMATION
AMOUNT OWED ON REVOLVING ACCOUNTS
NO RECENT REVOLVING BALANCES
NUMBER OF CONSUMER FINANCE COMPANY ACCOUNTS
NUMBER OF INQUIRIES ON CREDIT REPORT

What in the world 064? I am assuming this is their own internal scoring thing???? Hating myself for applying now, but oh well :smileysad:! Just wanted to share with all of you.

Wow! I'm baffled by this one. Even with internal scoring that seems outrageously low if the high is 999:smileyindifferent:

I thought about that, and not sure if it's worth the bother at this point. Then again I already took the hit with the inquiry, not sure if there is even a back door number because the reps directly who answer the phone are useless! I have called twice and basically said mom this is confidential information wait for your letter and even then it is what it is!

Those reasons contradict each other. :smileyfrustrated:

I saw a post where someone else had the same issue with a really low number and weird reasons. I think it was a GE acct too. maybe they had some issues with their new system? Might want to find the thread and figure out what they did. I would call. Have them explain those reasons.

Have you pulled TU Fico from this site? I hate that score system that they send... I don't get why they wouldn't send the same score as they get for Walmart for you.

What other GE Cards do you have and limits/balances?

That is really weird. I haven't had any luck w/GE recons, but it couldn't hurt since you've already taken the HP. Their score range is bizarre, and I don't get how they could score you at 064 when your TU FICO is 670. Their reasons also don't make any sense. If I were you, I'd call and get a better explanation of why they denied and see if they'll reconsider.

It sounded like they pull someone else report. Call them and ask, unless you won't use the card at all.

Thanks every one for your input! I have not had time today to sit down and call, but will do it by tomorrow. Does any one have any idea if I should call the listed Chevron backdoor number or GE? The letter states if I have questions or dispute to call GE????
