Discover Approved

Decided to app for Discover More card. I was approved instantly w/$1,000.00 credit line, I tried to ask for an increase but CSR said I would need to establish some history with Discover, I could call back in 6 months. Even though the limit is low its my FIRST prime card! I can't wait to get it, I've already called the new accounts department just to hear the "welcome to Discover speech" over and over, and over.

Does anyone know of a back door number to call for recon on CLI?

Tried the number listed. Rep said unless something changed with income they would not recon the CL. However, she did say Discover in general, as long as solid payment history and usage is shown CLI were available upon request. So, it's 6 months of gardening myFico friends =)

Can you share your credit picture with us. What's your AAOA and do you have any baddies? What's your scores and did you have any inquiries when you apped? I want to apply with discover but just waiting for my last baddie to fall of so I have a perfect report

I pulled myfico TU 688 on 05/01 Lender pull EQ 701 on 04/28. I have a few lates, one as early as 11 months ago others 13, 14,15 months. Other than that no other negatives, my AAoA at the time was 3.5 year from a secured BoFA. I had two other inquires on from Chase which turned me down on a Freedom which I thought Discover would never approve me! go figure. I've see Chase approve others with rock bottom scores in the 620s?!?

Just checked Credit Karma and it shows Discover pulled TU which was at 688 on 05/01/12.

You may want to call and recon Chase if you have not already

Believe me I tried, three times!. Each credit analyst told me reason for denial was recent late 11 months ago, I think it's too late to recon again or is it?

Good job OP. I just got approved for the Discover More card with a $1200 CLI and a higher interest rate of 22.99. I know they pulled EQ as my credit monitoring emailed me right away with new activity. Don't know about TU or EX. My current (pulled yesterday) scores are in my sig.

The system auto countered with a different offer than the original and asked me if I wanted to accept. I only get an intro 3% rate for 6 months and the higher standard APR. Other than that everything else is the same. Called the recon number and got the generic after 6 months I can request a lower APR and/or higher CLI. If it helps others, I have 3 recent apps on my EQ report and was still approved, rep said my counter was not due to a high number of inquiries but instead because of two serious delinquencies from a few years back (zero balances and closed but still reported).

Congrats. I applied for the student version of the card thinking i had low chances since i've heard so many stories of how hard it is to get approved, applied got the review message (:smileysad:) few days later i got an email to verify some information, called and the rep approved me for 2,500. I was really excited since i'm new to the credit world and now it's my most used card and not to mention it gave me double cash back on the month of my birthday. Congrats again and be patient you will get a CL in the future. :smileyhappy:

Okay so now I'm quite confused, if you look back at what i posted earlier I had a higher interest rate and shorter introductory APR. Now I went back to Discover's website to check the status of my app (just for the fun of it) and the system reports this:

$1,200.00 Credit Limit
0.00% Intro Purchase APR for 15 months then 10.99%
Standard Variable Purchase APR

CL is the same but interest rate is definitely listed differently. Any idea why it changed or is it just a computer error

The same thing happened to me. Got the counter offer then it showed me the same screen with the 15 month 0% APR.

I'll get the card this week and see what they say. Actually, I might just call them and ask.

Okay if it is happening to multiple customers than I think it just may be a fluke on their website. I'm sure the actual terms will be what we agreed to.
