capital one newcomer credit limits

i am curious about those who have been approved for this card and what are your credit limits to start off and what are they currently?

I have a kid that works for me and I am trying to help her establish her credit. I helped her pull all three bureaus and NOT ONE of them had anything on them (shes only 19) anyway, I walked her through the online app and they instantly approved her for 500. Shes had the card for 6 mos or so , and they havent given her any kind of CLI or anything. She runs about 80 bucks or so thru it per month and has been paying in full each time. WOW! i wish this card would have been available to me when i was young. i applied for this card knowing i would likely be turned down for VentureOne, Cash Bonus, or Prestige (these cards have no annual fee).

i am big on having a mastercard or visa that has no annual fee and no forex fees. since i know i would likely be denied for each of the three cards i have mentioned above, my only other option, (and yet a more preferable one, as it is a cash rewards card) was the newcomers card. i was approved for only 2k. i am curious if everyone with good to excellent credit that applies for this card can only get approved for this amount or could it have been possible that i could have been approved for more if my credit was even better.

2K is good for an initial limit with them. Use it regularly and PIF. Maybe you can have a chance at auto-CLI's.

i plan on asking for CLI upon activation. (just kidding). actually i plan on calling the backdoor number after i activate my card, and beg for them to lower the purchase apr. i am better than 24.9!

I got my wife to apply for newcomers about a week ago and they gave her 2000 CL. Shes had some chargeoffs from 2007 so i apped for a chase (denied) then this. These are the first cards shes had since 07 except being AU on 2 of mine.
