Approved for the Discover More Student Card for $1000!

I applied for this a week after I had applied for the Chase Amazon card and the Freedom card and got a CL of $1000.

I received a letter in the mail about my application (they were unable to approve it because there was...get this....no residence telephone. A big **bleep** but whatever). So I had reapplied then called the New Accounts department, they took the info from my new app, tossed me over to a Senior analyst who asked me about my student loans and what I wanted to use the card for and voila, instant approval for $1000. Get the 0% intro APR for 9 months and card should be here by next thursday.

Looks like just because you don't recieve an instant Approval after applying doesn't mean that you're automatically denied.

Congrats. Did you have to recon your chase freedom or was it a instant approval. Also how old is your oldest credit card.

Congratulations on the approvals :) Many times the only reason for the 7-10 day message has been identity verification for me.

My oldest credit card is literally 1 week old (Chase Amazon Visa). The Chase Freedom took some recon work due to verification so I never got a denial and just received letters stating that they needed my SSN.

I wonder if you can PC to the IT card from the student More? Congrats on the Discover card, Shopdiscover is the best.

Are you a authorized user on another account? If not your pretty lucky to get $1000 dollars from chase. They denied me with 8 months credit history so idk.

I was thinking the same thing. I app'd for chase for my first card before I started on this forum because I figured "Well, I've had bank accounts with them for years, they must love me" and they basically told me to go...yeah xD

Discover did the same but I had no relationship with them so I expected it.

My sister did get the chase amazon visa as her first card though with a $2000 limit with no history, and my other sister got $2500 from them with no history.

Are you talking about my Chase Amazon Card? I'm the primary user for the card, no one else. Same for all my cards. I was a bit miffed though as to why I got a higher CL on the Chase Amazon card compared to the Freedom card. I will have to call them and find out. I would love to do a CLI on the Freedom card but heard that it's a hard pull.

Same here, my first inquiry ever is Chase Bank on 3/11/2011 . . . couple Ks in my checkings and no love from them lol :smileyvery-happy:

The Chase Freedom was approved for $500. No authorized users.

If you are really not a authorized user on any card then u are very lucky. Hopefully I will get a instant approval from chase when I apply again next year if not another bank can take my money lol.

I wasn't even expecting to get the card! When I applied online and didn't get the "Congrats you're approved" I was expecting the letter stating I was denied. But yay, I got it!

I hate looking at your sig and seeing A cap1 card for $300 and then seeing 2 chase cards and a discover, when they all denied me, but then cap1 gave me a $3000 limit!!! lol Credit Be Crazy

That Cap 1 card was a horrible idea. Applied for it after I applied for the Freedom card and after approval for the Chase Amazon.

Ouch! Well at least you got some nice prime cards there to balance you out. :D The only Cap1 card I'd ever pay an AF for is prob the venture, it's a decent card if you spend a lot.
