I'm new to this board and pretty new to credit in general, but I was just approved yesterday for $2k with the AmEx Gold Delta. Now I guess it's time to be patient and wait for the card :smileysad:

Thanks everyone! No problem, scores are mid 700's with about 10% total utilization. I have an auto loan through a local bank, the Discover More card, a Sterling (Kay) card with a $0 balance, and student loans totalling around $6k that are in good standing. My AAoA is a bit low at around 2 years. The Kay account was my first "credit" account and I'm glad I opened it. They gave me a line of $3k, which I believe Discover saw and matched when I applied for that card. I bought a $500 ring with the 0%/12 month promotion. I have about 2 HPs within the past 12 months. I'm pretty excited about cracking the AmEx shell!

Congrats! I got approved for my Amex Gold Delta on 7/24 and finally received the card on 8/3 (8 business days).

Found the offer on the Delta site for 35K miles with $500 spend w/in 3 months.

Great card!!!

They started me at $2K as well, which kinda ticked me off considering my salary and other CL's. In 61 days I went to $6K, six months later it was $18K and the beginning of this month went to $25K. Use it, pay in full, and they will grow with you.

I love my Delta AmEx. This is our "go to" card. We have over 160k miles accumulated. Used miles earlier this year to go to Boston. Using the companion certificate in November to take my daughter on a fun trip to New York...museums, 2 Broadway shows, etc. Using that companion certificate to make memories.

Also love the free checked bags. And be sure to shop online through Skymiles shopping when it makes sense to do so to get 3x, 5x, 7x, etc miles.

I know Delta doesn't work for everyone, but it's one of our biggest carriers in our rural area...so it works for us.

credit limit seems low for the credit score you have but AAOA 2 years so it's ok, besides the 61 mark = 3x increase + 3x increase again after another 6 months =)
