Anyone ever been denied a Navy FCU Secured CC...I?

Probably not, heard one was closed for legal reasons (court snatched the deposit) but can't think of a denial posted here at any rate.

I have never seen it in any posts either. Have you had any credit with them before that was unfavorable or anything?

Never had a card with them, but my credit is pretty screwed, so I just need a good acount on there. I was denied a Cap 1 secured...so if NFCU denies me...I'll be in Chapter 7 land.

I've never seen a denial. I had horrific collections and they gave me a chance but I didn't have a BK. Give it a shot you should be good to go

I was at 494 and was approved, after being declined for cap one. Re-tried cap-one and was approved.

When I went into an NFCU branch last year to app for a secured card the person I sat with explained to me that NFCU would not deny a member a secured card because it was secured with your own money. Now I'll add to that in saying when you do apply, chances are if you have accounts with them that are in bad standing ie past due, unpaid, etc, then of course they're not just going to let you open a secured card because they would want you to take care of your past due balances with them first.

NFCU is a very lenient credit union. Once you do right by them, they'll take care of you. If you start messing up, they even try to work with you to get you back on track. I wished that I had tried them first for my secured card last year before wasting pulls with BOA, Cap1, and other places. They just unsecured my card a few weeks ago and gave me an increase so do try.

jordanmedical..I have beyond horriffic collections.. so that's good to hear. How long after you received Navy's secured were you approved for Cap 1? I've been denied by them more than once.

Sweets... how long did they take to unsecure your card, if I may ask?

+1 Have never heard of a secured card denial from NFCU.
