Why do I feel that whipping out the Discover More on the first date wouldn't be very impressive? :smileyindifferent:

It won't.

Use an AMEX instead.

It may backfire because she may think you are broke and having to use a credit card just to pay for the date...

I don't think anyone that is getting something for free should complain about the payment source. If they do not like it, invite them to take out their own. Someone who judges you based on a card may not be someone you want to date.

Discover can be a hard bank to get in with. She/he should be impressed that you have a Discover.
You shouldn't be trying to impress a potiential boy/girlfriend with a credit card. IMO, If someone is MORE interested in you because of the credit card you use, they are shallow and potentially a gold digger.

I had someone, who was very attractive, help me at a department store recently. But it wasn't until AFTER I pulled out my Amex BCE that they started to really be nice and flirt. Maybe I read too much into it, but that turned me off.

I was gonna say, it shouldn't matter what you whip out...but as long as we're still talking credit cards I'm safe.

use whatever form of payment you feel works best for you. if your date questions it negatively? offer to let THEM pay...

That's funny to worry about something like that. As a female, I would always kinda look away when guys would pay....I didn't wanna get caught looking....lol I didn't care how they paid....but now I would be like "oooo, let me see that, what is your credit looking like to get a card like that?" I think I may come here too much...lol

Whip out Amex. Discover always struck me as an older person's card, albeit with great credit and fiscal responsibility

If its a small restaurant then i pay cash but if its a nice fancy restaurant that the bill is more than $50 then CC. I whip out any of my amex charge cards to pay on a date. I would you the discover IT tho its a cool looking card
