The FCRA regulates who has access to your CR The FCRA never mentions the terms hard or soft inquiry.

The only limitation on a party getting less than your full CR is for inquiries made by a party offering you new credit (so-called "promotional" offers for credit).

Under FCRA 604(c)(2), promotional inquires will only permit the party to receive your name and address.

Other legit inquiries, whether they are coded as hard or soft, get your full CR.

What info does a CCC get w/a "Soft" INQ? A "Hard" INQ?

As I mentioned in another thread (http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Understanding-FICO-Scoring/Help-Has-TU-changed-their-FICO-formula/td-p/696448), I was recently turned down for a CLI. Previously, when I had asked for a CLI, they did soft INQs. This time they did a hard INQ. Does anyone know what info a soft INQ gives a CCC? What additional info a hard INQ gives a CCC?

Thanks!

As far as I know, the information on a soft pull is the same as on a hard pull. The difference is the hard counts against you.

To add to what guiness said the "soft" pulls can only be seen by you whereas the "hard" pulls are seen by anyone.

From a BK years ago to:
9/09 EX pulled by lender 802
3/10 EQ- 800
6/10 TU -772

You can do the same thing with hard work

Credit Scoring 101
Common Abbreviations
Frequently Requested Threads
Whats In Your FICO Score
