Wow - I am working on getting preapproved for a USDA Guaranteed loan and my lender pulled my 3 scores today. EQ - 678 EX - 666 and TU - 633!!!

My TU '98 score from myfico is 689. A 56 point differential - you have got to be kidding me!

However, my Equifax from myfico shows as 678 as well - spot on. And Experian - well we all know the story there.

I think there was one other person who reported a difference of 60 or 63 points, but 56 points is still impressive ... but not in a good way. :)

It's way past time for Fico and TransUnion to show some consideration for the consumer and offer TU'04 scores ...

Yes it stinks, I recently had to put a caveat when explaining to people the best website to get their scores from, I still tell them myFICO.com but let them know that the TU score might or might not be the actual score the creditor receives.

For people with better credit the differences aren't as great I've noticed. When asking my credit vendor Kroll about it they stated that TU 04 will have better scores than TU 98 for those people with good credit, and for people with negatives in the past 24 months or lower scores, TU 04 will generate a lower score than TU 98 would. I've noticed the lower score scenario with TU 04 many times, haven't seen anyone with better scores on TU 04 yet.

Very Interesting - it doesn't really wind up affecting me for a USDA mortgage because my mid score is still above 660, but that could really hurt my chances for any other types of loans/credit cards. Is this site planning on changing over to 04 anytime soon?

I know this is an old thread, but my experience was the same.

myFICO TU - 614

Lender TU - 579

Wells Fargo is currently taking 600 and above for USDA and FHA. This literally killed my application for now. does anyone know what TU FICO 04 is most greatly effected by? I'm going to pay-off the most current delinquent credit card and hope for the best. I have three bad debts. The others are over two years old.
