Does anyone know if credit sesame is accurate?

My experian jumped 33 points and is up to 622 PTL! But, is it accurate?

No; Credit Sesame uses a FAKO score; and any point increases may or may not by similar with a FICO score..

What caused the score movement?

Mine is nearly 100 points different than my lender pulled score. Definitely not reliable in my case.

Agreed. Mine was about 50 points LOWER actually. I lucked out but I never look at FAKOS these days. I cancelled all my CMS.

Hey guys,

My guess would be 3 total collections removed.

2 lines of credit paid on time for 4 months, I thought it was longber but I guess not.

And another collection in dispute that is going to be PFD.

And it hasnt changed in such a long time. I contacted them and they told me they get their point system directly from Experian. I dont have an experian score to compare it to tho.

its never a number to trust or rely on, but its nice to keep track. My CS last month for EX was 655, my apartment pulled it that weekend and it was identical 655... thats a rare situation but I use it simply for account info. not score. I wish mine was accurate this month because CS went up 33 points haha I dont have any pulls coming anytime soon, so I'll never know, but just use it for information, not the score, and youll be fine.

60 points difference for me. I just use it to see if anything changes. As far as scores goes, not even close.

It is a FAKO. Experian stopped provided FICO Classic II to consumers several years ago. Short of applying for for a mortgage or some other line that you know will pull Experian, it's close to impossible to obtain an Experian FICO these days.

Personally, I just call up my credit union and have the loan officer there pull a trimerge once per year. It's straight FICO scores from all three bureaus and it costs me $11

Thank you guys! I guess I can just imagine it is going up tho if it is going up on there. Maybe not correct but at least moving up and not going the other way! So until I apply for a mortgage I guess experian will be a mystery. :(

Yup, I mean at least I can get an idea about where I am with this stuff. I am really working it. NOW I will do two more PFD and that'll leave two. The two left are from almost 6 years ago. GOD i wish I had done this sooner.

I mean, you can always purchase a FICO from here... at least the Equifax is stlil what lenders use.. so you could have a feel for what THAT score is at least

Yes I do get them from here. My equifax is horrible but thank god for middle scores. :)

I know it varies but in my case credit sesame is near identical to my EX fico according to Amex.

I do know I checked my experian report and they did a pull when mine was updated. CreditKarma is accurate. I called Transunion and got my score from them because I am on a trial period for their monitoring system and their score was the exact same as creditkarmas vantage score. In fact they both changed the same day.

I use CK and CS as temprature gauges weekly and pull myFico once every 3 months for a snapshot. CK has been more or less 10 plus/minus. CS, not so sure.

This score comes directly from Experian and is intended to give you an overvall view of your credit standing. Considering there are 49 FICO scores available, it is rare any two scores will be the same.

Instead of viewing only the score, we recommend also viewing the category your score falls in (Fair, Good, Excellent etc.) to get a better understanding of your credit rating.

Feel free to use me as a resource for any Credit Sesame related questions.

The quesiton was; how accurate is the score?

FICO scores, are used by lenders. Can you point out a lender that uses the Experian National Equivalency score?

The score provided is not used by any lender and should be used for educational purpose, and therefor, has a 0 percent accuracy in my estimation because it used by 0 percent of lenders.

While it is true that there are 49 FICO scores, less than 10 are used on a regular basis, and a small amount of education will help you make decisions on which FICOs are most used and in what terms.

I don't think the question was is Credit Sesame a worthwhile site, or if you should use it to vaguely guage credit worthiness. On this forum, a Fico forum, when people ask if a score is accurate, they are comparing it to a FICO.
