Thank You CreditHawk!! You have probably saved me from going down a road I shouldn't have. I was literally on their web site filling out an application.

Do you have any knowledge of Christian Community Credit Union? Ive seen some good reviews on here about them & I applied a few minutes ago for a car loan.

My credit union turned me down today because of my BK. Said it HAD to be 5 years discharged before they would give me the loan. What really burns me is that it will be 5 years in Dec.

Might be time to look for a different credit union. :smileymad:

Anyone had any luck with an auto loan from Christian Credit Union? My credit union turned me down today because they require 5 years from date of bankruptcy discharge. Mine will be 5 years in Dec. Those jokers wouldn't budge on 5 stinking months. Now I've got the ding to my credit. From what I understand, I can apply at several different places as long as they are within the next 14 days and it will only count as 1 inquirey....is that right?

I applied at CCCU earlier...guess I'll keep my finger crossed. Anyone having any luck with other lenders? My scores are low 600's...around 620.

Ok....I got in a wreck a couple of weeks ago and my car was totaled, sooo....I am going to have to get a new car. I went to my Credit Union and applied. Got the big fat NO! I had a bankruptcy that was discharged in Dec 02. She told me it had to be 5 years before they would approve anything. So...anyone have any other suggestions? Scores are probably low 600's minus the recent ding from Credit Union. :smileysad:

I read on one post that if you dipute in one way, the CRA's have 45 days to respond. If you dispute via TC, does the same apply? Seems like it was the annualcreditreport site that gave 45 days?

As stated in an earlier post, I am in the rebuilding phase. From what I've been able to glean, it appears that TC is the only economically feasible way to monitor credit reports. Is this correct? Can one file disputes via TC?

Ok...Just got a scorewatch alert (dropped 5 points). I am in credit repair mode. Make a long story short:

I filed Chapter 7 BK in 2002.

At that time I had credit cards with Fleet & Citi. Apperantly during the time I filed through discharge, Bank of America bought out Fleet or Citi? Ok...Fine....well...they were reporting me waaaay late up through 2006. I disputed it, and now they have that corrected as included in BK. Should they be able to report anything, because now it appears I have another CC that I never even had with them???

Second problem: I had a truck that was financed through BoA as well, that was PIF 2001 which had the very last payment showing up 30 days late. Well I sent in a GW letter to ask that they remove the late. They sent me a letter back saying they wouldnt...blah blah blah. Well....they are now reporting that good account (truck) as included in BK!!! I can't win for losing.

Any suggestions? I'm assuming I will just have to start the entire dispute process over?? Sorry for rambling...

Don't let it go to court unanswered. Do you acknowledge the debt? What are your intentions? Do you intend to pay it? If so, I would try to contact the attorney and work it out before it goes to court. If you let it go to court unanswered, the judge could grant a summary judgement against you and it will probably cost you a lot more (court cost, atty fees....).

Another option (if you intend to dispute the debt) is to ask for a continuance stating you are out of the country.
