I was in a very similar situation last year with Chase. I had an old CO (2006) that I had paid, GW'd, and had removed from my reports.

I applied for the Chase Freedom card last March. My FICO's were in the 670-680 range at the time. My util was under 5%.

I had to recon the app, but they did approve me for 4K. I've been auto CLI'd to 4.5K since.

From my experience Chase seems more likely to approve folks for the Freedom card expecially if you have a Discover More card already.

I also tried applying for the Chase Slate last month but was told I was denied due to the old charge off with them. I was a little disappointed, in the past year I've done a lot to increase my FICO scores and credit portfolio. I think you'll be approved for the Freedom with 6 months of waiting, but don't get your hopes up too much beyond that. As always, YMMV.

I wouldn't get too stuck on Chase, not with cards like the Discover It and AMEX Blue Cash Everyday (AMEX will back date) out there. Just something to think about.

Seriously you've done a great job that I know personally isn't that easy. With no negatives and just some inquiries all you should need is another year or so of gardening and you might be pushing 800! Onward and upwards!

Applied online yesterday via CK website link. They pulled EX, my score is approx 678 (PSECU Fico). I was approved for 4.5K, so I'm very happy with that starting CL.

I'm looking to cut my families costs with some rewards dollars this year:

1)AMEX Blue Preferred: 6% on groceries, 3% on gas

2)Discover More: ShopDiscover for online purchases and to use reward dollars on Amazon.com, 5% on various categories

3)Chase Freedom: 5% on various categories

I'm not trying to spend more this year, hopefully I can spend less but why not spend as efficiently as possible!

Good point! Hey I noticed you have a Cap1 Platinum card. I had the same card with the same limit for 2 years. Last month I emailed the CEO and the Exec office contacted me. I asked for a CLI and they bumped up my CL to 5k. with only a SP.

Chase App Recon

I applied online for the Chase Slate card last night. I called in this morning and was told since I have a 6.5 year old charge off with them I was denied. The rep then said she would 'mark it for approval' and to call back in a few days. I'm assuming they have some type of manager approval process that can override a denial?

Chase agreed to remove the old charged off account from my credit reports last year. The account was picked up my Midland in which I did pay off the collection account 2 years ago. This was one of the reasons Chase agreed to remove their charge off account from my reports.

I've had a Chase Freedom card since last March with a 4.5k limit. I charged approx 3k a month to take advantage of the cash rewards and always paid the balance in full before my due date.

At this point I'm feeling like I've been blacklisted with Chase, well sort of.....Anyone have advice on what I should do next?

I applied online last week. My EQ was 670 and TU 681.

I was given the 5-7 day message online, called in backdoor. They had a couple financial questions, approved for 3k.

I just tried emailing them for CLI on my Spark credit card. I'll post back if/when I hear anything.

My current limit is $750.

Hopefully it will be a nice increase. I've had the card since Sept. 2011, perfect payment history, 680-700 fico scores, and 100k+ income.

I've also tried with customer service rep initiated CLI's to no avail.

********Update************* Someone from the Cap1 Exec office called me today (same day I sent the email). They took some of my financial information and said they will be doing a manual review of my account using a SP of my credit file. They said they'll contact me in 3 days to let me know if and what my CLI will be.

********Update*************Just got another call from the Cap1 Exec office. They bumped me from $750 to $5,000. Whoo hoooo!!!!!

Discover More Approved!!!!

I just applied online for the Discover More card. I really like the direction they're going with Amazon.com.

I was a joint account holder on my fiance's card but now I'll have my own account with a 3k starting limit.

I was given the 5-7 days message after submitting my app. I then called the backdoor number and spoke to a very nice service rep.

She had a few additional questions about my credit history.

They said they pulled EQ and TU. My current fico's are all in the 660-680 range. I have a couple old paid CO's that will be coming off my report this year.

I've been able to get my scores up 200 points (from 2010) and I buy a house for my family this year from what I learned on myfico.com.

I couldn't have done it without you, thank you all so much!!!!

I just was contacted by one of their sales reps via email. They needed me to fill out a form with my vehicle info.

She also stated it can take up to 5 business days for their credit dept. to approve/deny an app.

I'll report back on progress....

I just submitted my app online and received a message stating that my app is being reviewed and I will hear back from them within 5 business days. They also emailed a link to check the status which states:

"Thank you for your interest in the Wright Express Universal Fleet Card Program.

We have received your application, and it is currently being processed."

Does anyone have any experience with their review/underwriting process? Also, should I follow up my online app with a phone call?
