I've had a Chase INK Cash card for about a year now and I just happen to miss my payment by 1 day. It should have been enrolled in automatic payment like my Chase freedom card which is managed by the same login info and now I'm worried I'm going to get hit with a Penalty whats the normal practice is this something that happens after only 1 day late? I've been good with the card since I got it other then this.

I went ahead and tried my luck with Navy federal again. Since i recently got upgraded to the Flagship visa signature and found out after the fact that it doesn't offer NPSL I thought I'd ask for a higher limit on the card and at the same time ask for a NavCheck. I was able to get a NavCheck for $10,000 (asked for $12,000) but I was denied for the CLI citing "Excessive credit obligations" what does this mean exactly? I don't think it was refering to my NFCU card. Which was nearly maxed out but paid off. NavyFederal also gave me a $32,000 Auto loan last month (second vehicle) so now I'm wondering if that was the reason. I make $115,000 + a year and the only debt's I have are the two auto loans totaling $60,000 and the credit cards which are usually paid off in 45 days I wait 45 days because I want the balances to report to show I actually use my credit here and there. Now I also have three collections from cards I don't even remember having that all of a sudden showed up causing my score to tank hard the same day I applied for the above (I didn't know till after I applied so that might also be hurting the increase) should I just chill out for a while and battle off those collections?

Not even worth the effort just too soon. Even if you got a loan it would be with terrible terms like CashCall for business or similar. I think I saw a offer once from them basically if you borrowed the maximum ($20,000) you would pay back $118,000 and the end of the terms... I'm sure I don't even have to explain how ridiculous that sounds.

I just wanted to ask you fellow card holders if you've ever had a problem going over you limit with the Visa Signature from NFCU? I recently had my nRewards converted to a Flagship Visa Signature rewards card mainly because I liked NPSL feature that I thought was on all Visa Signature cards. Well I I've charged up my card to the limit this month and I just submited a full payment eariler today from the Navy Federal Checking account I have an hour or two after I made the payment I also tried to make another charge for $277 pucks that would have put me over my limit by only $40.00 had I not made the payment. Now I understand the payment may still have been processing but I figured it would have been ok to charge that transaction because of the NPSL. When I called NFCU the rep told me shes never heard of that feauture so imagine my confusion? .. This card has a $49.00 annual fee but I'm thinking about going back a nRewards if I can't get that benefit. What if I needed to go over for an emergency or something false advertising no?

Any thoughts from the community?

I applied for the Chase Sapphire Preferred card based on the comments on the board and I was denied. It was odd because I was just approved for an AmEx Platinum but denied for this? Anyway, I waited for the letter to arrive and their reason for denial was "A bankruptcy appears on your credit report".

I figured "oh well" but looked through the boards a little more and then found the phone number to the RECON department (888-245-0625) and decided to give it a try based on what people wrote for other denials from Chase. The first operator told me there was nothing they could do because they don't accept people with previous bankruptcies that show on their reports. I let her know that it was a little over 7 years ago and insisted to speak with a supervisor. She even told me they would probably say what she said but I decided to try anyway and it PAID OFF!!! The supervisor was great and after asking me several more personal questions I was approved for a $10k credit line with CSP!

Awesome and just wanted to post on here to help anyone in the future that might be in my position! Persistance paid off in this case.

Thats awesome. Yea I applied for the CSP also the first person I talked too got pretty rude at me as if it was out of the question for me to get one just because of the BK. She wouldn't listen or factor in the facts of my high bank balance or my paid off chase auto loan or my great usage and pay off of my INK card. Just pointed out the BK. So I hung up and called the exec office they seemed much more willing to help I'll find out tomorrow hopefully. If they still want to site the BK as the reason I'll just move my $$$ to NFCU who just gave me their Flaship Visa Siggy and a $32k Autoloan. Seems they would appreciate my business more.
