Thanks!

On myeddebt (which I just found out about within this past week... I must be out of the loop on this stuff) does show my payments, so the money did get applied.

At this point I'm convinced that I signed paperwork to consolidate, but it was my understanding that I was just completing the necessary steps for rehab. Premiere Credit told me "We'll be sending you some paperwork that you need to sign and send back in order to move forward with the rehab." I know nothing about rehabbing so I just assumed filling out the form was truthfully the next step.

I'm just hoping it turns out in my favor - successful rehab. Otherwise what was the point of me doing a "rehab" for 10 months if I was just going to consolidate and lose out on the perks of rehabbing?

Haven't heard anything yet. And of course I can't find any of my paperwork. My wife and I just had our first child 1 month ago so our house is a little unorganized and I haven't had much time to search, so I'm hoping!

I'm waiting to hear back from the ombudsman specialist. What someone I spoke with said is that what may have happened is the consolidation paperwork came through before the rehab paperwork came through. I'm hoping that is the case and they get things figured out.

Last year I contacted the Department of Education regarding my defaulted student loans (4 to be exact). They said that the account had just been sent to a collection agency (First Premier) and to contact them. Gave them a call and inquired about the rehab process. They said that I qualified for the rehab and that I would need to make 9 on time payments. This was in November of 2011.

Fast forward to August 2012. First Premier calls me and says they have some paperwork to send over to me in order to complete the rehab process, along with making my last payment. Make my payment, fill out the forms (don't remember exactly what it was... uh oh), and they say everything is good. Now I just wait for a new lender to pick me up.

September 2012. Call First Premier to check status of rehab. They said that the account has been sent back to Department of Education and that they can not access any information. Contact Dept. of Ed. and inquire about rehabbed loan and am told that it has been sent to Direct Loans and that the old negatives will be removed within 45 days.

October 2012. Call Department of Education to inquire about baddies falling off from completion of rehab and am told... wait for it........ that I never rehabbed. My loans are still delinquent. Instead, I consolidated?!? Explained what I had done, asked for help, they referred me to Direct Loans. I'm getting mad at this point. I call Direct Loans and explain everything to them. They say the same thing.. according to their records I have simply consolidated, not rehabbed. If that's the case, where did my 10 payments go? They refer me to the Department of Education Ombudsman Office.

So I give them a call, explain my situation, and they will have an "ombudsman specialist" contact me within the next 7-10 days to try and help me out. I feel like I got taken advantage of by First Premier. Like they told me I would be rehabbing and then swooped in a consolidation at the last minute. I'll keep everyone updated on how things are going.

Not much help because it was over a year ago and I don't remember the details, but my chexsystem showed about 15 negative entries. The problem was that it was really only 3 (from a old closed checking account - all were paid) but they were duplicated many times. I ended up calling chex and filing a dispute, similar to how you do with the CRAs. It was fairly easy and was resolved almost instantly.

Now that I got approved on an auto loan at 4.49% with my low score I want to app like crazy to see what else I could get, but I must garden as I'm convinced the auto loan gods were feeling mighty generous when they approved me.

I'll apologize in advance... this is a bit of a brag post :smileywink:.

My wife and I had our first child just a little over a week ago. We had been talking about buying a small SUV/Crossover type vehicle as we both currently drive Honda Civic 2 door coupes. After a week of trying to lug a carseat in and out, plus fit the stroller and all the baby stuff, I was pretty fed up.

I called my CU and applied for an auto loan. They called me back and said that they could not approve me because of "excessive obligations" and "recent delinquency." I explained the baddies on my report and they said to call back when those were cleared up and they would reevaluate.

As for the baddies/credit history - I joined these forums about a year ago. My credit score was a 560. I had a handful of collections, medical collection, excessive lates on my SL's, defaulted on a few other student loans. I did lots of work, got quite a few deletes, did a few PFD, and worked on rehabing my SL's (which I learned about on these forums! THANK YOU!). I even opened up to secured CC's and was approved for an unsecured $500 limit. Things started to go up, then they dropped down to 530 and I've been building back up since.

I spoke to a family member about the denial and she offered to cosign. We were scheduled to go out the following weekend to "seal the deal." I decided to go out and look at some cars this past weekend and fell in love with the CR-V. I found a 2012 Honda CR-V EX and it had the space we needed plus a few extra perks that I wanted. Since I had already had my CU pull my credit, I knew it wouldn't hurt me to have Honda pull it and see what they could do for me. I told Honda the payment amount I was looking for and that I didn't want an outrageous APR as I could just come back the next weekend with a highly qualified cosigner and get something better.

They ran the numbers, came back, told me the payments, terms, APR, etc., and to my surprise they somehow qualified me for 4.49% with American Honda Finance. My Equifax score is a 578 and my Auto Enhanced score is a 601. I'm completely baffled. I was able to get the car I wanted ( I would have been happy with the lower LX model, but they lowered the price to make it work), a car payment $5 below my max (hahha.. not much, but it's something), and the APR of someone with far better credit.

(not my actual car)

Edit: Double posted image.

For another its due on the 1st and then reports on the 8th.

What I did was just waited a few weeks to check for a pattern.
I had to chime in on this thread. I know everyone posts horror stories about them, but I've had absolutely no problems. I got approved in 2007 at around 16%. I don't know what my credit score was.

I've been late on this account many times in the past (Stupid me!), and they have only ever reported one late. I've been able to call them before to make a payment arrangement when times were tough or push the payment back to the end of my loan contract.

They helped me out even I bought my car and I can't really say anything bad about them.

Score Watch problem too?

I see a few other people have posted about not receiving Score Watch notification when there has been changes to their reports/scores. I'm not trying to beat a dead horse...

Some info:

* I have my settings for Score Watch set to 1 point above my current score.

* In January I had 1 collection account deleted (found out by contacting Equifax)

* I also had one negative tradeline removed (found out by contacting Equifax)

* I have added a new credit account (also verified by contacting Equifax)

* Utilization was in the 1-9% for last month.

I don't know if I have something setup incorrectly, if there is a problem with Score Watch, if it takes extra time to update... I'm just not sure.

Can someone help me out in understanding?

Ok. We spoke to an attorney/lawyer friend and asked for advice.

She told us to contact the collection agency and make an effort to settle the debt. She said after payments have been made to request a statement showing account was paid as agreed. She said we would then file a motion to dismiss, providing evidence of our payments.

We called the law office and made a payment arrangement. The amount due is now $1020 because they have added legal fees. We will be making 2 payments. He said they will dismiss the court case. They are going to send over a letter discussing our arrangement, and will send a letter saying paid as agreed and they said they will update the credit reports to reflect this. They will not be able to delete the negative tradeline, but we will GW the hell out of them.

Our attorney friend said not to avoid getting served. We have given them the new address and will await being served if it happens. If they do not dismiss the case, and we have made the payments, she said we can just file the motion to dismiss and all is good.

Thank you for your help and input!

RobertEG -

We do not dispute the validity or the balance owed on this negative account. I'm sure it's just some legal mumbo jumbo, but the documents state that she has refused to make payments to Capital 1 and has also refused to make payments to CACH/ACS/Robert Colclough. The documents also state that in Sept of 2009 she owed Capital One $839. That balance was then sold to CACH/ACS/Robert and she has not made any attempts to pay this debt. However, she has made 5 $100 payments this year.

My questions/concerns/thoughts are that according to court documents filed by CACH, she originally owed $893. We have proof that she has paid $500. Her outstanding balance would then only be $339. If they amend the judgement down to the $339 balance, can we settle without getting a mark on her credit reports? I'm worried about contacting the collection agency to settle the bill because I have read stories of others who have done this and were told they would dismiss the case, but they collector never followed through. I just don't want this to effect her longterm, if possible.

Beb86 -
Was this with the same collection agency/attorney? Like I stated above, I'm hesitant to contact them in case they take payment and DO NOT dismiss the case.

Pizzadude -
I'm sure court fees, lawyer/attorney, etc will be outrageous. All of this over a $830 debit. Do you know how it works since she hasn't actually been served? Can a court date be set without her being served papers? We DO NOT want to miss any court dates, or miss an opportunity to settle this out of court. We just don't know what to do to move forward.
