Only over the phone and Monday to Friday from yada yada... and after holding on the phone forever and this young lady asking me everything that I could possibly be asked, found one reason to say Sorry Sr.. but I have to end this call due to you not being able to verify your address from 2003. For 2003? and we are 2013, 10 years ago? **bleep**! what is wrong with these people? That conversation did not ended well... so f***ing pi$$ed!...

Regarding your Cap1 card, they don't allow customer initiated CLIs at all. You'll just have to wait and see if a miracle occurs and you get an auto CLI. It's rare, but it can happen. I got one last year and about fell out of my chair, LOL!

My DH has an HSBC backed card and got a CLI recently with a soft pull. If you call them and request one, make certain that you inform them that you give authorization for a soft pull only.

As for Discover, first of all, congrats on the approval! This is a nice card that should grow with you over time. I believe that they'll auto CL you from time to time. As for a customer initiated increase, I'll have to let others chime in on that. I'm not sure if they pull hard or soft.

I'm sure that you'll get plenty of other responses here. This forum provides a wealth of information that's shared by its members. Best wishes as you grow your garden!

Thanks for the info, Cap one is not helping that much, Low CL almost no CLI's.. I'm really glad I got the Discover and looking forward to nurture that baby!

Now I'm Itching to see what else I can add to the garden that will provide me some sweet fruit in the future..

Hi

Today has been a great day for me.. I sign for SW and got my EQ CS of 663. It was about 20 point increase from last month. WoooHooo!

Then applied to HSBC Platinum (Pre-Screened Offer) I usually throw those right away, but since my Cap 1 has been with the same CL for the last year I decided to start looking somewhere else. Got approved for 1K with HSBC. And also applied for Discover More Card that I wanted for a long time, And got the approved and the Welcome to Discover message.. Don't know what the CL is but for now I'm really happy that things are starting to look better for me.:smileyvery-happy:

I'll see what the dings does to my CSS.

Is there a way I can find out what they pull and the scores? If I call them do you guys thing I'll get that info? May be I can use that to update my missing scores below :smileywink:

Thanks

The big thing to me is that itget a major negative off your reports, the "0% of our high scoring people..... had a public record on their credit report" that we see here on myfico CR's... It is totally work the since the effort consists of filling out a couple of forms and buying some stamps. Getting any and all "baddies" off my reports is allways my been my goal.

Thanks, every little increase counts, and like you said getting those "baddies" out are also important even is doesn't increase CS.

Hi

Sorry for sticking my nose in this tread, I'm in similar situation, I did BK7 then the mortgage lender forclosed on the property since I did not wanted to reafirm nor pay. It shows on the CR as a "BK Chapter 7". So my question is when you apply for a new mortgage is that consider BK, Forclosure or Both? I ask because I'm trying to find out how long will need to wait before applying again since the two dates of the BK7 discharge and Foreclosure are long apart.

Thanks

StartingOver10 wrote:

Did you own property in the BK? If so, what was the disposition of that property?

This is a major factor in determining the time period for which you are eligible for a new mortgage.

Hello StartingOver10,

Im looking for the answer to your comment here. I discharged (surrendered) my home on BK7 3 years ago and was forclosed soon after. I would like to know when can I start looking for a home. Also if you have any links to this info will be great. Thanks

Just trying chip in here, I do believe most lenders will use the "discharge date" specially for mortgages. In your case the latest will be Sep. 2011. I'll let other chip-in if Im wrong.
