....does it seem like Discover It is an easy card to obtain? I've seen many recent posts about folks getting approved for the card with mediocre credit. I thought by it being a prime card, the criteria would be more strict. I really want to add a Discover card to my wallet but was trying to wait until I got my utilization down a bit. But after reading all these approval posts, I'm just may bite the bullet and app for it.

Should I app now or wait? I have been denied in the past and I know they will pull EQ. My correct scores are 658 (CreditKarma) and 645 (EXP) 661 (TU) 678 (EQ) via USA credit monitoring. I have 4 prime cards with $5k limits and few store cards with limits above $1500. However, I'm concerned with the number of inquiries and baddies. The youngest is from 2009 and oldest is 2007. 2 of the baddies will fall of in July 2014. I have 11 inq's with the youngest being October 2012 and the oldest being Sept. 2011. I have not missed a payments or been late in over 3 years.

What are my chances of approval??

I'd like to add a new mastercard (too many Visa's) and a card issued by Citi to my collection. I'm chose Citi because of price rewind and private pass programs. I combed the Citi site but was not really impressed with their cards and associated rewards programs. I want a card with EMV (all Citi card now have it) , no annual fee and a balance transfer promotion. I think all no annual fee cards charge a transaction fee (BOO!!). Thanks in advance. :smileyhappy:

Thanks! I've had the card I believe since May 2011. My starting limit was $800 and now it's $2k. I've had several CLI but I've initiated them all up until now. I normally do not use the card often and when I do I always PIF. However lately, the past 2 months or so I've been using it a lot. I've ran about $800 through the card the last 60 days or so. Hopwfully they'll show my Bloomies account the same love. *fingers crossed*

I have both the Southwest Visa and CSP. My 1 year anniversary on the Southwest card is approaching and I need to decide if I'm going to keep it or PC to something else before I incur the AF. It appears having both the CSP and Southwest visa is redundant and both have $95 AF's. I've decided that the CSP will serve me better overall but as I browse through Chases credit card portfolio, I'm not sure which card to PC to. The JPM Select is a contender (hidden TL) as well as the Hyatt and Marriott cards because they both have the smartchip which is great for overseas traveling which I plan to do later this year but I'm not sure which card to select. I usually stay at Starwood hotels when I travel but their card is issued by AMEX. Can you please help me decide?? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for all the input. Let's circle back to the OP. I stated I'M NOT A FAN OF CHARGE CARDS, just never saw the point in having one and my dream card is the Costco TE. However, I'm concerned about getting approved because I've heard it has strict underwriting criteria. I thought of the Delta Gold becuase I've heard they are more lienant with approvals and after 1year you can PC change.

Now that Zync is gone, what is the best way to get your foot in the door with AMEX? I'm not a fan of charge cards, more interested in their revolvers. I really, really, I'm mean really the Costco True Earnings card but I've heard that's not the best card to app for if you are new to the AMEX family. I've heard of folks getting the Delta SkyMiles Gold card and doing a PC later. I'm open to taking that route.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions! :smileyvery-happy:
