Well as it turns out they will not renew my defferment past 2014 even though I've only been back in school for half a year now. I'm not real sure what's the best thing financially to do here, or if there is anything I can do. I'm disabled I live with my mom, and she's moving out so I won't be able to pay the extra 231 out. I'm not sure, but I think it's possible to work part time at minimum wage and still maintain my full disability check. I could take out extra government loans to pay for the other loan. Sounds stupid on face value, but I only have so many options. Could possibly move closer to school. If I moved in these one apartments I'd still be able to get access to the internet from school for free since the apartments are so close. So that'd save money on internet and gas, but I'd have to find a way to get my stuff moved up there. I don't know if I could get anyone to help. What do you all think? Care to brainstorm with me?

I went to college for awhile, and then I took a "break" (long story). I started school back up last january. I got Chase (who holds my student loans) to defer, but according to my account the defferement ends in 2014, but I won't be anywhere near done with my degree by then. Is it in the realm of possiblity to get them to defer until I'm actually out of college?

I here BOfA secured is really good. They graduate you after around 12 months to an unsecured card, but there standards are a little higher than other secured cards. I also here first progress is pretty good, but you might want to consider just adding more to your CL on the cards you now have. It would be easier to manage, and since cap 1 doesn't report as secured it would look like you are responsible with higher amounts.

Yeah I've been doing 40 a month directly out of the bank. Nothing has showed up on my reports, so I'm okay with that. However, sending it straight to collections takes my right to appeal the balance to the insurance company away. You know maybe some of it should have been paid by the insurance, but it's too late now.

I'm having an issue. I have medical insurance, and it's a PPO. I always go to the providers on the list. I get the letters from the insurance stating how much they paid, so I just waited for the bill from the provider that way I could pay them what I owe them. Instead, I recieved a letter from a collection agency. I never got a single bill! Is there anything you can do in these kinds of situations. The debt amount is valid, but I would have paid it before collections if I had recieved a bill. The collections agency is willing to not pursue further collections (reporting to the bureaus) if I stick with a payment plan.

Well, in all honesty the cell phone had more to do with everytime I paid them my payment magically vanished! They shut down my phone saying I didn't pay them which I did. Charged me cancellation fees. I started going to their store to make payments on it. (We had a payment plan.) However, everytime I made my payment my balance was exactly the same. I called them about it, and they claimed that they recieved my payment, but that balance was accurate. (It wasn't.) I was paying them with money I had left from a previous job. I found a new job, but I needed the payment for the cell phone for gas money. (You know, so I could continue to pay them!) I called them, but they refused to work with me. They tried lieing to me about this and that, and they were very rude. Plus like I said my balance magically always stayed the same, so when they said they would put it in collections I told them go ahead, but I'm not giving you anymore money. I was 18, and perhaps a little to hot headed. The collections agency wanted the payment in full, and I couldn't afford that. I got really sick, and that's when I had to leave my job and move back home. The other collections are from the period of when I became ill.

Well my scores are bad because I've had 2 late payments in the last two years on student loans, and when I lost a job I couldn't afford some of bills. So I have two medical collections, a cell phone collection, and as stupid as this sounds a library collection. I moved in an absolute hurry to beat the potentional of any eviction preceedings starting. They never did, but I didn't even take back my books to the library. I just moved out of town with family as quickly as I could. For the most part it paid off. I have a first premier which I know everyone hates, but I'm never going to use it unless I have the money for the purchase already. Then I just pay it off when purchase hits my account. I have cap 1 secured which I'm still waiting to come in the mail. I got a 200 limit with a deposit of 49, and I'm still waiting on the decision for a walmart store card.
