My apologies for the delay in my reply.

It was one of the Kroll reports, like they run for mortgage purposes. The repair business provided it. And they also charged me $99 out of the blue when they said they could not automatically pull my reports. So that wasn't cool.

So, I am assuming they're FICO. It listing the scoring methods like Beacon, Fair Issac 2, etc.

The name of the credit repair place is The Credit Pros.

Funny thing is, I've not seen an impact on Credit Karma - although that's a FAKO score.

I had the following scores, all FICO:

TU: 638

EQ: 607

EX: 599

I hadn't checked them in awhile as I was using a recommended credit repair business - which was recommended by my mortgage company.

Today my scores are:

TU: 599

EQ: 590

EX:578

Inquries have fallen off, I've not applied for new credit, and all my bills have been paid on time. There aren't any new collections or entries.

Did the credit repair place doing a hard hit bring down my scores like this? Maybe the fact that they've disputed so many items?

Thanks!

Dealer Buy Back Question...

I've searched around on here, and haven't found an answer so I thought I would ask.

I bought a Suzuki Kizashi in 2012. I'm not happy with the vehicle, and the current bank does not refinance. I received a high interest rate because of my low credit score, and have never been late on a payment :)

Anywho, with all the news about Suzuki leaving the US car business, I gave the dealership a call.

They offered to buy back my car and take care of the loan.

I started asking questions about the negative equity, and how the loan was paid off - the young lady said that I would owe nothing and that the loan would been satisfied. She said they would make a deal with the bank and give me 29 days to get another car else where.

She made it a point to say that that the buy back offer was not related to the Suzuki bankruptcy, it was just something they did for their customers.

Now doesn't really jive with me. The car had a low resell value to begin with, and now with the recent announcement - it's even lower.

With me owing $24K on the car, and expecting at least $5K-$7K negative equity, how is that resolved? I know the dealership isn't going to do me any favors - someone will have to take a hit some where.

I asked her if they expected me to purchase a vehicle there, and she said "no" that would be a trade and not a buy back.

So is this a ploy to get me back into the dealership, and into another endless loan?

All opinions are welcome. Thanks!

Well, denial from CapOne - perhaps because the dealer submitted an app to them yesterday? Wish I had known that when app'ing at Lending Tree. LOL.

Thank you guys for the suggestions. I had applied through Lending Tree about 6 months ago and was not matched with any lenders.

However, I applied again and was matched with Capital One. An improvement I suppose.

Interestingly enough, I noticed a pull from them yesterday, so I assume the dealership ran my app thru them.

I work for and bank with Wells Fargo. I was turned down thru them a few months ago as well.

I am not a member of a CU and not able to join one currently.

I'll wait to see what CapOne says.

Thanks again!

I've heard this before - what does it mean??? LOL

I applied for financing online, FICO scores in the 605-630 range, about $5K upside on my current car, $1000 down payment.

When I pressed for a straight answer about financing, aprroved or not, the salesperson said not to worry, that the finance manager had been doing this for 15 years and could definitely help. In the past with lower scores, I've gotten a straightup "NO".

Why can't I get a straight yes or no? I know they just want to get me in the dealership but I'm not going to drive 1.5 hours to get the runaround...

I'll throw in my VZW experience.

I had an older account I forgot about when I hit hard times a couple years back.

I have a current VZW account that is current and always paid on time.

I was made aware of the account when it popped up on my credit reports. I wrote to the CEO with an address I obtained here. I offered to PIF if they would delete the mark from my reports. I advised them the account was mine, and I wanted to take care of it. I also explained I was a current customer with another account in good standing.

2 months later I get a "settlement offer" of 50%, and they would agree to mark it as paid on my reports, but not delete. After several unasnwered phones calls and frustrating conversations with customer service - I sent in the payment for 50%.

Now again, 2 months later - my check has not been cashed, and I get a letter yesterday VERY similar to the OPs. It uses the same bad grammar and verbage. It also explicitly states that they have made an amendment to my reporting, which will take 60 days to reflect with the CRAs, and to use this letter as proof of payment.

All this, and my check I sent in August has never been cashed, and my bank advised me to run a stop payment on it.

Thanks for the advice.

I've done all that.

Did PFDs for most of my collections, so they're gone. Only 2 unpaid that remain are a VZW collection, which I plan to PIF and my federal student loan.

I have one paid collection left with Midland, and they refuse to remove it. I have consulted legal counsel and am preparing to sue them for other violations.

I have paid state student loans that went to collections, then I paid them. They won't budge with a GW either. Tried that several times.

Lastly I have an auto lease from TD Auto Finance showing 8 months of 30 day lates and a GW letter from them saying they have corrected the mistake. They asked for 60 days to update. That was about a month ago.

Other than that, I have 2-3 other auto loans that are 3+ years old, with a couple of 30 day lates each.

I know about GWs, PFDs - as this site and it's community are a wonderful resource. I've been doing this awhile.

Thanks for the reply and info, Shogun.

Yes, I have tried PFD and the only response was a proposed settlement of 50% and it being marked "paid" on my reports. I sent a counter offer of paying in full in agreement for deletion and have not received a reply.

I'm sure there is interest bringing the student loan amount up, however I doubt (and hope) it would almost double the amount. I was rehabbing the loan but the company taking care of the payments went under and stopped taking their money (that's been over 3 years ago). I have made little progress in finding someone to help me. It seems that every number I call, someone says I have to speak to someone else, and so on. At this point I just want to pay it, even though I know it won't be deleted. I guess I need to find that one person that wants to take my money. LOL

I have made some headway - TU 480 to 621 in a few months. Although my EX and EQ reports are stuck at 570-590. My reports are identical, I am assuming scoring criteria are different.

Anywho, does potentially negative entries hurt my score? These are collections I have paid before I knew about any of the awesome information you guys have taught me. I have 2-4 of those.

My only two baddies are a VZW collection which I intend to PIF and my USDOE loans. Funny thing is, it says I owe $5067 when only $2625 was dispersed, or that's what it says when I plug my SSN into the student loan site. I have not had any luck trying to get the balance corrected.

I have the following positive tradelines:

Santander - Auto Loan, 8 months no lates

Sears - Authorized user, 4+ years no lates

Wells Fargo Secured Card, 6 months, no lates

Capital One Secured Card 6 months, no lates

I thought I might be able to get a Barclays card (Apple) but was declined on the recon for 4-6 late payments on a closed lease back in 2009. I was also denied a Wal-Mart card with no real reason, other than not enough recent revolving history.

Shall I let time heal all wounds and not worry about applying for anything?

Is there anything I can do to push forward, and maybe raise my scores?

Just curious.

Thanks!

John
