+1 to what webhopper said-save up for a couple of months, once you have the cash, buy away. Stick it on your Zync (I think I saw you have one?) or another points/rewards/what have you card. When you get home, PIF that sucker. Et voila, new appliances, no CC debt, and rewards of some flavor.

Well if you are an Amex cardholder already and you get denied its not a HP.........so if you drapp the button then you are ok

OTOH if no Amex, its a hard pull...

The four new accounts may have factored into it a bit, Barclays can be hyper sensitive to new accounts prior to or directly after apping with them it seems

Don't give up. I really like the idea of a written appeal to Amex.

And +1 on punting that stupid CU. Yargh.

Even if the accounts stay closed, time will heal the likely minor score damage, and there are other fish in the lending sea.

Discover's preapproval site can be screamingly confusing. Make sure it says that 'you are preapped for' instead of 'you may be interested in'. I agree with holding off though, they can be not so generous with starting CL from what I have seen and you might have better luck with your planned CLI requests.

It will actually ask you if you want to use funds in your paypal account (assuming there is fundage in there) when you set up your payment

From the pull, no, from the addition of a new account and drop in AAOA, yes, most likely. If they pull your credit again in the mortgage process they will be able to see the new account, which may geek up the process. Underwriters are just looking for an excuse to make your life h*ll :). Don't give them one.

Short answer: NO VS CARD (or any card) DURING MORTGAGE!

Wait until closed & funded, then app away :)

Statement posted today. I had one VS transaction and one BBW transaction. Only earned points on the VS transaction. So the answer to BBW purchases equalling VS points is no.

And Epcot, sorry to hear that. :( But hey, they might just need a little more time.
