I have the Saks Fifth Store Card which recently changed to CapOne. I got it about a year ago for something I purchased but never used it. Two weeks ago, Saks sent me a new card for CapOne. I've never used it. It isn't reporting on my CR... should I ignore this or try to get it to report (it would of been open for 1 year now).

My credit profile:

AAoA: 7 years

Cards: NFCU ($10K), SDFCU ($20K)

Loans: Student loans, lots and make up the bulk of my long credit history

Utilization: 2%

Inquiries: 1 on EX, 3 on TU, 1 on EQ

Hey thanks for the response.

I do have an emergancy fund set up just in case.

My retirement savings is pretty non-existant right now, so I'm focusing on funding it.

I have no idea debt except minor periodic credit card that I pay off every month.

My concern was that I get on a 25 year plan that I can't pre-pay and get forced interest on. I'd be game to pay my yearly IRS deductible ($5200 a year) where I would pay off the loan in 4-5 years. But I would immediately (after approval) move to pay down or pay off the 7% interest.

Not paid. 787 score came from the Credit Union after they did a soft pull on my account. I have a pretty good thick file (mostly student loans) with 16 open accounts and 36 total accounts. Only baddie is one unpaid collections (no chargeoff).

AAoA is ~7 years, $20K on a VISA at an CU, and $10K with another CU. Util ratio is 2%. I've never banked with US Bank.

My score is from the CU when I got the VISA, so I'm guessing its a FICO.

Well if I hit hard times and can't afford $400-$500 a month in student loan payments (I live in the Bay Area), at least I won't be obligated to pay it.

But does doing an extended repayment plan (2 or 4 years) have any "special" considerations except that it stretches the loan out 25 years?

It is basically like a 30 year mortgage instead of a 15 year one?
