18 years old, few questions!

Hi all and thanks for taking the time to read this.

I am 18 years old and am looking for a new car.

I have a decent paying job and would like to establish some history with auto loans.

Planning on putting 20 - 22 thousand as a down payment and getting a loan for 6,000 to 10,000.

My FICO is around 650 and have nevered missed a payment.

Do you think because I have limited history, that big of a DP will help me get approved?

I think you will surely be approved.   An auto loan is similar to a secured credit card, especially when you are putting that much down, the car will be worth more than the financed amount for the life of the loan.
