MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTARY:
Traded in 2007 Toyota Camry w/135k miles on it that I bought brand new at the same Carmax in 2007. I still owed $10,844 and Carmax gave me $8,000 for it, and rolled the other $2,844 into the new loan. I put absolutely no money down. Was approved alone but added wife as co-buyer to keep her credit more active, as she only has our mortgage and a few small student loans active on her credit file since our last vehicle that she was on the loan was paid off more than 2 years ago. We felt this may help diversify her credit file. Credit was pulled by Carmax at 1:15PM today and within approximately 3 minutes we had 5 offers with terms ranging from 60 months to 72 months and 1.9% APR to 10.2% APR.

I have to admit, Carmax is a great way to go. Its our 3rd time using them and will continue to use them. We love how no salesman, manager, or any other goofball actually sees our credit file and therefor they don't play any B.S. head games, make judgement about you, or treat you unfair in any way. You give your info to them they type it in right in front of you then press "next", an hour glass turns for a minute or 2 and then a screen pops up with either a denial or any offers being made for financing.

MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTARY:
My first car loan, all of the other vehicles I've ever purchased were done with cash.  I was 100% debt free until I bought this car.  I paid off everything as of December of Last year.  Folks are telling me that my apr is great considering I've never had a car loan before.  Not sure on the score they pulled from Ex but my others are all sitting at around 650 or so.  I had my scores just under 700 before I moved, all of the inquiries associated with moving (housing, utilities, job, etc) kinda baked my score.  Oh well I can pay this off in a year if I want to, I just want to establish a good payment history.  I'm going to be rebuilding my score over the next 6 months..hopefully i'll hit 700 by Xmas.

MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTARY: Been plotting this out for awhile, and My Fico helped big time!  Started at CU, asked for 26k, they approved me for 23,050 (not enough) plus a 3k visa card I didn't ask for.. someone needs to explain the logic behind that one..why not just give the 26k car loan?  So I went to the dealership, test drove the car that showed up this afternoon, ended up with an out the door price of $29,395.94, 2,500 down plus 400 graduate rebate.  Picking up the car tomorrow!  Dealer pulled credit and showed a Transunion score of 793 which must be auto-enhanced..  I pulled TU and EQ from Myfico this morning and TU was 784.   All in all, happy with the purchase!

MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTARY: I took a loan out against my old car (a beat-up 2001 Nissan Altima that needs work that by far exceeds its actual value). I wanted to get a new car and get out of this toxic and predatory loan. This was supposed to be a lease with no money down, until they saw the condition of my old car and saidthe car wouldn't cut it as a down payment. As a result, I ended up buying. Still no money down, which was huge for me. Even though the term is longer than I wanted (I'm in the last year of a DMP, so I knew I wouldn't get the best offer), I'm really happy I got as good of a rate as I got, considering the loan against my old car was for 23%!
