Auto Loan Apps, Where to Finance?

I'm wondering if I should do any of the online apps through:

  1. my bank
  2. dealerships
  3. other auto lenders (like cap one?)

Is it a bad idea to shop around online? Should I just go into a bank? Into the dealership? And let them run the credit apps and discuss things with me?
