Auto Loan Reporting

Is it normal for an auto loan to not report for 4-5 months?

Re: Auto Loan Reporting

Are you checking all 3 credit bureaus?  An old auto loan of mine was only reported to two.   There's no requirement for an auto lender to report at all, but most lenders generally do.  4-5 months does seem like a long time.

Re: Auto Loan Reporting

The loan is still active, all 3 agencies show the same. It has less than 2 years left on it and it pay it on-time every month. Just strange because this is the first time they have done this. Toyota motor credit by the way.

Re: Auto Loan Reporting

Oh, I understand what you're saying - your auto loan appears on your credit reports, but TMCC has not reported any activity for 4-5 months.  I thought you were saying that the loan didn't appear at all on your credit report(s).

There's no requirement for creditors to report on a specific schedule, or to report at all for that matter.  Having said that, I have a TMCC auto loan that was opened in August, and activity has been reported every month since then.

Re: Auto Loan Reporting

You can contact TMCC's finance department and simply request that they report your entire payment history to all 3 bureaus. 99% of the time they'll say "no prob" and it'll show up within a month.
