Best is a realitive question. I am a firm believer in going with credit unions, they consistantly offer solid APR's and great customer serivice. I have car loans with Penfed and NFCU and both are great, many here have had excellent results with DCU or their local credit unions also. My suggestion is to have a preapproval in hand before shopping, depending on the car your looking for the dealer may be able to beat a credit union rate right now because there are many manufactuer sponsored rates right now and your scores are probably good enough to get you a promotional rate if one is available. Either way I think it is always best to have that preapproval in hand first because dealers like to mark up APRs and that preapproval keeps them honest.
Credit Unions rule. In San Antonio RBFCU is great.
