Capital One Blank Check Question

I was approved for this today. I'm looking to buy a second car and it will be a used one. My question is, can I use this out of state? If so, am I responsible for paying tax, title, registration, and so on? I know in state I could just wrap it in at the dealership.

Thanks for any info you can provide!

Re: Capital One Blank Check Question

You can use it at any approved capital one dealer. Look up approved dealers at the capital one website. I was impressed by the amount of approved dealerships they had.

Re: Capital One Blank Check Question

I'm aware that I can use it at any dealer. But if I live in IA and buy it in say SD how do I pay the sales tax with the blank check?  That is my questions. You only get one check I assume and I doubt they will let you make it out for more than the purchase amount. The out of state dealer cannot figure out the sales tax for another state is what I'm saying,

Re: Capital One Blank Check Question

Great question and i have only a guess. I am not sure cap one would even let you do that but a call to them will answer that. If you are buying out of state yourself, you would mkst likely have to pay that stares sales tax and then do a transfer into your state when yoj got the car back home. Of course that then brings in the issue of titles, registrations and jnsurance and i think that may be a bigger hurdle. If you are buying fro a regular dealership ( as opposed to an individual or used car lot) you may be able to talk to a local dealer of the same brand and see if they can arrange to bring the car to them and handle the sale. Mjght be easier all the way around and gets you by the title mess etc. Just my two cents. I used a cap one blanck check few years back when i bought my jeep and it was an easy experience. Good luck with it. I have looked at out of state cars before but never went through with a purchase. I am curios what you find out.
