Credit collections that fell of is back!!

I had a car repo in 2000 that was $10,000. The collections was for $40,000 on a 10k car... Well it fell of two years ago and since then I have two car that have never been late. Well they just sent me a new letter and it's not on my credit yet but they said it will be. My question is can they put it on my credit report and what can I do?

They legally cannot report it. CRTP per the FCRA is 7 yrs. Keep all of your letters. Don't call or write, unless something legal, like a judgment comes to you. Make sure you are out of SOL.
