I agree with BlueHusky. Try credit unions or Navy Federal Credit Union. I have a buddy who just before he ETS also had a bad credit history and had a recent repo at the time but able to bought a new brand truck through the pre-approved of $26K. He said, he credit score was 580 (through NFCU so it must be Equifax). He walked in, talked to loan officers for few minutes and walked out with a check. Usually, the loan officer will encourage people to apply through the website or the phone call but he managed to get it done in few minutes.
