Re: FICO vs. FAKO – Share your FAKO stories

[ Edited ]

My current Credit Karma scores are TU 678 EQ 674.  My Fico 8 scors on MyFico are TU 631, EQ 652 and EX 675.  I don't think that's a big difference really.  They are way up from 18 months ago  like 100pts on both.   Can't wait to see a 700 somewhere.Smiley Happy

Discover $11200, Amex BCE $15400, CapOne QS1 $6500,
BOA MC $4000 Merrick $2500, Fingerhut $2400, Citi Simp $900 Kohls $700, MEFCU Visa $1000 CapOne QS $1000
Fico 8 Scores as of 3/02/17: TU 704 1 INQ, EQ 705 5 INQ, EX 683 8 INQ
Almost 700 across the board!!!! I'm heading for the garden until 4/2018 at least.

Credit Karma and most of those other sites that provide free scores are a waste of time.

Re: FICO vs. FAKO – Share your FAKO stories

  1. Where did you get your FAKO score? Credit Karma
  2. Which FAKO score did you receive and from which bureau? 519 TU and 516 Equifax
  3. Where did you get your genuine FICO® Score? MyFico
  4. Which FICO® Score did you receive and from which bureau? 607 TU  606 Equifax
  5. What type of loan/credit were you applying for? (type, rate, terms, etc. are all helpful) None Rebuilding
  6. Share your FAKO story (What was your first impression when you received your FAKO score? How did you figure out that it was not a FICO® Score or that it was different than a FICO® Score? How did the FAKO score impact your loan/credit experience? ) when I applied for a Target Card and was approved.

Re: FICO vs. FAKO – Share your FAKO stories

I had someone that recently applied for a rental (I'm a Realtor) and they supplied their Credit Karma scores to show they are qualified to rent the property.  Naturally, we couldn't accept those scores and had to notify them that they need to use a legitimate screening service.  It is difficult to overcome all the Credit Karma ads insinuating that landlords will accept a Credit Karma score for tenant screening.  It makes it very hard on the consumer and the landlord too (not to mention the Realtor that has to be the bearer of bad news).
