Getting an auto loan with high DTI...

My girlfriend & I closed on our house last month. We bought a 2 family house and we get $2200 for the unit upstairs. Our mortgage payment is $4700. All the banks we applied to dont want to count the rental income therefore raising our DTI pretty high.

She makes $55K and I make $93K. My DTI is at about 61% with the mortgage and not counting any rental income. I dont have any debt besides the mortgage.

Is any bank going to approve me with a DTI that high or at least include the rental income ?

We dont like putting our personal debt in eachothers name so we're trying to avoid it if we can. It looks like that might be our only option.

You should be able to get an auto loan.  What banks have you applied to?  Have you tried the credit unions?  Also, are you applying under a joint income or single income?
