How long before I should app for a car loan?

Rebuilding after letting bad stuff fall off from 10yrs ago. Gardening new cards.

TU 768 before I apped the last round for the Chase and Amex.

I have one small previous auto load from around 96' through BOA that I paid of early. Don't know if this will show up on all reports but I've seen it on at least one.

Don't have any other negative things on any of my reports except for the new inquiries for the new cards possibly.

I'm planning on 8K-11K loan for a used prius from a dealer or individual which ever works out.

How long should I garden before I app for a car loan?

Orchard Visa CL 520 AOA 1.7 years

Chase Visa CL 1K AOA 2 mo

Amex BCE CL 2K AOA 1 mo

PayPal Bill Me Later CL 800ish AOA 3 mo

Total Utlization 24% (Will be down under 5% before I plan to app)

From no credit to EQ 747 in 16 months using info from these forums.

Chase Freedom 3k, Chase Slate 5k, Amex Blue Cash 6k, Discover More 1.5K

RIP: Orchard/Cap1 520CL

TU:702
EQ: 698

Down from 747 cause I used em' :smileysad:

I don't think you will have much of a problem. If you have a down payment and job history is decent it should be easy enough....

Good Luck

I would recommend at a very very minimum of 3 months.  Preferably 6 months as of today.  This would let your newest account (1month) breath a little bit.

Don't have a specific car in mind yet. A second gen. It may depend on the terms of the loans. Some say no more then 4 years old. 06' to 09' would probably be my best bet.Might also consider a Versa, Yaris or Fit if it was the right deal but the Prius is more attractive.
