TrueCar seems to be the most accurate.  I would visit their site to get a good idea of what you should be paying.  It sounds to me like you are getting auto responders and the dealership isn't following up with a live person.  I'm not sure if Nissan has any guidelines for their dealers internet responses.  Have you tried DCH?  Corporate keeps the dealers on their toes when it comes to internet responses.  Just make sure to ask for a quote including Destination & Handling.

I was very specific in the question to provide me with all the fees and charges other than tax, title and registration.

I have that in mind but since I want the tech package which I think would be coming out by end of this month so I have not strongly called up dealers. I would definately do that.

Does it make any difference I request a quote through company website compared to the dealer website or any other commercial websites?

No matter what you choose it will always funnel back down to the dealer responding.  Most dealers have an auto responder set up that sends a canned answer no matter what the content of your email is.  If I were you I would call the dealer and ask for the Internet Sales Manager.  Let them know you have been trying to obtain a quote via email which has not gotten the response you have asked for.

I highly recommend you stay away from a dealerships that will not email you pricing and explain all the fees and rebates. To me this is an indication that the dealership is trying to hide something.

Re: I can help, I manage a car dealership.

I have a quick question. My current car was rear ended a few weeks ago and the estimate just came back for the car. It looks like it is going to cost 2K more then the car is worth to repair it so it is going to be totaled out. Once it is totaled, I will only have 5 days to get a new car. I have gap insurance to cover the remainder or the balance on my current car once my insurance company pays the ACV. My question is, being my current car loan will not show as paid within the time limit I have been given, if I bring the paperwork showing that my current car loan will be paid off by my primary insurance company and my gap insurance company, will I be able to finance a new car thru the dealer? My current credit scores are in the mid 600s. I have not been late on a car payment since 2006 and that was just 30 days. I have a couple small collection accounts which I have been working on getting paid and removed, by they only total 700 bucks. I make 63K a year so the payments are not an issue. I also only have 2 credit cards, both with 500 dollar limits and both about about 35% utilized.

Thanks for all the information you share and educate us.

I did not get any auto responses but actual call from the dealership(s) in few hours of sending in the request. I think I will try again once the tech package starts rolling out in NJ.

True car now shows the pricing for the new car so where do I start the negotiation? Anobody here who is interested in buying new nissan altima or has already bought one?

Re: I can help, I manage a car dealership.

Hi. how are you?. thank you for all your valuable information.

question.

I leased a 2013 Audi A5, 13 days ago (priced at $46.800), $1000 rebate/ my cost $45800/ 0 down/ 42 month lease term),  but Im unhappy because of the color decision I made. now I'd like to change it to my fav color. same car just different color. I put 800 miles on it in these 13 days... I know I will have to take a $ hit, but what range of hit will it be and how can I minimize the $ damage in the trade in your opinion?.

I found the new car/color I want (rare color combo). it is available at an audi dealership in USA....

what info/deal do you suggest I approach the new dealer with?. I want to talk to them loaded with info so they can't bs me,

Audi does offer $1000 dollar loyalty incentive and I've offered the dealer $2000 below asking online. if they say yes, I will be $3000 ahead.

I'm pre approved with their dealership already and in good standing with Audi Finacial services. my score is 717-721 TU, which they pulled.

thank you and regards

A.

Bump for my question. Does UpNComing not come on here anymore?

Be patient. He is not getting paid to do this. His wife, kids and job most likely come first. His last post was 7/17 so he still comes here.

Buyers remorse is a tough one. You are going to be 8-9k upside down, especially since you rolled all the taxes, fees etc into the lease. It would be a BAD BAD decision for you to make this trade. The A5 is an amazing car. The colorcombo might not be what you want but you need to live with it for at least another year or two. They also sell well so there is not much reason for a dealership to sell it for that cheap.

My biggest question: Why would you accept a car you didn't like in the 1st place?

Re: I can help, I manage a car dealership.

Cellice

thank you for your reply.  I'm not at remorse. I love the car. it was one of my top three color combo choices, my first two being red and yellow are extremely rare or would have to be special ordered which would take 16 weeks to arrive. I found one (top choice)  which came in this week... it's just that I'd rather have my first choice than third..

it wasn't a question of "accepting" a car  I didn't want. they had a few other color choices and I chose this one. I wasn't pressured or anything.   it's not a biggy. if I get a good deal then sure, if not, Im 50% happy still. lol...  I can wait 12 months for the change.

I do agree with you about this car being amazing and worth its value. having been a bmw owner/fan since birth (lol) I certainly didn't regret the switch. AUDI has really come up and outdone themselves in the past 5 years.

I will keep you posted on how it goes with the deal.  one thing is for sure though being on the subject FICO; my credit being good puts me at an advantage in the negotiations which is a plus. I don't have to bend for bad offers. I already have an account with Audi FS so its just a matter of switching cars.

Well at least you dont regret the car. That would make living with it that much harder. Hopefully they can give you a good deal switching. If not, you still have a great car that was one of your top choices. It often takes me months to buy a car because I go between different cars like an insane person and then colors, trips etc. I do research till my eyes bleed and then once I buy I still doubt the purchase...

How much are you paying a month on the A5. I would love one of those but I think it would be out of reach. Cadillac has amazing leases available on the CTS so have been poking at that and the VW CC.

Oh and sorry if I sounded like I was coming down on you. I was just typing out my internal dialog I have almost always right after I buy a car,lol If I could buy a new car every 3 months I would >.>
