Me and the wife were hit hard in the recession, as I was on a pay cut for 1.5 years and our 2nd child was born right after the pay cut. Had a surgery in the family as well.
Got a new job and have caught up all the back bills but have many 30 day lates on the record, but did not have to do anything drastic like home loan remodification or bankruptcy.
Looking to purchase in about 12-16 months. The myfico future or whatever tool says if I just pay my bills and get a couple secured credit cards my score will raise dramatacally.
We had 690 and above credit scores before the recession.
Thanks in advance!
Yeah get some good history (secured cards), keep paying, and if your FICO goes up, you'll have no issues at all. Post back here in maybe 6 months or so, and we'll see where you are then!
