Seeking an auto loan

I will be seeking an auto loan in a couple of months and wanted to know how my income will play a role in the loan amount I am requesting. I currently make 30,500 yearly and will be asking for a $20,000 loan for a new car. This will be my first car purchase and my credit scores are EQ-679 TU-681. I have 2 collections due to fall off at the end of the year. My husband is the bread winner but I would really like to purchase the car on my own.

Thanks in advance for your advise.

Since you are married, use your combined income on the application even though applying just in your name
