Highrate for me wound be above 1.99%.
I read that with 715 Fico, new home loan and stuff, I will not get anything below 3%. I also read that Best or good rates are for people with fico 760+.
Luscher, do you really think that I am still in the range for 0% or 1.9% for an auto loan?
My first carloan was at 9.99% with 50% down, but back then I did not have any credit score. So still bit nervous with carloans.
I would like to reduce the downpayment as much as possible so that I can use that to get the CC cards out of the way. I am ok with 25% down, but what is typical % downpayment? I am not going to trade my current car.
You should be able to negotiate top tier with any lender. My credit file is worse than yours and I got pre-qualified for a low rate (1.91% for 72 months), no down payment required. Though, I will be putting a good chunk down.
If this is a need why are you looking at a $45k vehicle? Why not find a used luxury car for $30k or a new midsize for about the same? What kind of cars are you looking at? I could go as high as $50k or so on my vehicle purchase, but I don't see that as a need. instead, I am seeing what is out there for $30k and sticking with it. Even on a new car $30k will get you plenty of car. Features such as heated front and rear leather, tech (blind spot, adaptive cruise, pre-collision braking), plenty of size choices, FWD/AWD/RWD (plenty of choices), 200-300hp, mpg...prety much any modern need can be found for $30k. After the loans are all paid down, savings is back to pre home purchase, and your score has rebounded. Go buy the dream car, for now I'd suggest getting a cheaper vehicle.
What CU or Bank did you get the 1.91% for 72 months?
What CU or Bank did you get the 1.91% for 72 months?
It was below advertised rates. USAA

The loan ended up being the easy part. Having a rough time with the purchase part.
What did you buy or trying to buy?

I work for a Hyundai dealer and there are some great incentives 1.9 up to 60 mo. Even the most decked out Ultimate package is around 40k MSRP which you can definitely work down
Why are you recommending a Hyundai for longevity, the warranty they offer? They have some of the lowest numbers in terms of vehicles that have made it to the ten year mark. You can say "they are better now", but why risk it with a guess when you can go with another auto maker with a reputation for longevity?
But I will say the new genesis has some nice seats...not trying to be rude, just looking for more details to back your recommendation.
I am going by this list http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/rankings/Affordable-Midsize-SUVs/
The list has Hundai Santa Fe at the top (2nd place), something to consider, but I have kinda narrowed down to Highlander.
edit: Fixed typo, 'by' not 'buy' (english!)

I wonder why they left reliability out when they tested those.

2015 reliability is not yet in... it takes a while.... the reference would be 2014 realiablity info.. Chevy Traverse had quite a few recalls for 2014 models.... so avoiding it.

Seems like a solid reason to avoid it.
I think pretty much all new cars are reliable. Sometimes you will get a bad one with any automaker. By a bit of luck, whatever you decide on will still be going strong in ten years.
