USAA Auto Loan....wth!!

Applied online last night out of "boredom".  Got approved for $30,000 at 12%...wth!!!  My Fico is 698 and I gross $86,000/year...have a $300,000 mortgage..3 USAA CCs....no baddies less than a year!  Why such a high interest rate!?  I see people on here that are post BK and fico scores in the 500s with better interest rates!!

Are you non military? They tend to give non military higher rates.

With a 698 EQ, I think you're prime to apply to DCU. They'll approve 680+ for 1.99% for 65 months.

Don't take it personally. It's just business...they think that's an appropriate rate. Just find a lender who thinks 2% is appropriate and take the loan with them. Supply + demand...usaa will have to recalibrate sometime if they want more business.

I am retired Air Force.  Have been a member of USAA for 6 years.

With very similar scores got the exact same rate, even with 50K in cash in USAA.  Called for recon they lowered by .25.  This was for a 50% LTV on a used 2012 BMW.
