Will I get approved?

My creidt is crap. Upper 500's. I'm currently rebuilding but I have a number of negative items on there including a charge off from my previous auto lender (Ally). The loan was paid off but they charged off the late fees. I'm currently locked in a dispute with them. At any rate, as much as I've tried to hold on, I'm in need of a new car. I know I won't get approved by myself so my plan is to use my wife as the co-signer. In fact, I'm going to list her as the primary borrower. So in short, she has the credit. I have the income.

What's the chances of approval? Should we try and get pre-approved that way?

What are her scores.  Normally the finance company will use the higher of the 2 for rate purposes.

Re: Will I get approved?

Please let us know how this works out for you.   I believe having a cosigner that has a string score would help, however I am wondering if you mind find that with her income not supporting the loan could get in the way.  Hopefully others with similar experience can comment.

Best wishes!
