Re: Worth trying a refinance?

Wow, this is really great information, thanks for sharing. I have about the same LTV you do and been crapped on every turn trying to refi my currently 22% APR down to any reasonable level. Going to try Cap1.

Re: Worth trying a refinance?

OP what did you use for prequal? Mine says it needs to be less than 130% LTV.

Nope, that's what I used. It very clearly stated that their maximum LTV was 130% when I input my information.

Oh well, at least someone got lucky!

Hmmm.... I didn't notice that. They did say that the pre-qual was a soft check, not sure if that makes a difference to you. Sorry!

Re: Worth trying a refinance?

I'm wondering where you saw that. I must have missed it (fortunately!). I was only paying attention to the main page requirements:

  • A car, truck, minivan or SUV
  • 2010 or newer
  • For personal use only (not commercial)
  • Currently financed by a bank, credit union or large auto finance company
  • Current lender must be FDIC or NCUA insured
  • Not currently financed by Capital One

Re: Worth trying a refinance?

No, it said it when I put in my vehicle and payoff information. It wouldn't allow me to submit the form without reducing the payoff to 130% LTV.

Yea, that's why I said I'm glad someone got lucky at least. Now the angular is busting and I can't even select a vehicle! >.<
