Has anyone used sites like autocreditexpress.com and roadloans.com? autocreditexpress.com was noted by a site called realcartips.com as one place to apply for people with bad credit.

And, is it common for a credit union to do a hard pull for your membership application? My local CU tells me they will perform a hard pull if I apply.

Yes, very common for CU's to pull your credit for membership.

I'll note that some people with bad credit here have had success with roadloans. Though roadloans sometimes returns a pretty high APR. Worth a try if you need a car and have bad credit (FICOs less than 620 on all bureaus) though.
