paid auto TL has dropped off my CR

Is there a way to have a TL that dropped off my CR added back on?  I paid off my car loan in 2008 and I had 5 years perfect payment history and it has just disappeared off all 3 credit reports.  This would really help me out because most of my other TL consist of charge off/collection accounts and/or new accounts so losing this I know is hurting my score as well as my other baddies.

Re: paid auto TL has dropped off my CR

Sorry to hear that!  Generally, no, there really isn't a way to get a tradeline re-added once it has been dropped.  Seems like the only ones that ever come back are the bad ones!  You can certainly ask the original creditor if they would mind re-reporting it for you, but I wouldn't count on it.  Sometimes tradelines stay longer, & sometimes they drop off sooner.

+1  Should stay on for 10 years since it was paid.  Sometimes there a glitches and they just fall off early.  Too bad that generally doesn't happen with the bad ones!

Re: paid auto TL has dropped off my CR

That’s what I thought.  It just sucks though because most of my other credit is newer and currently either charged off or with collection agencies.  (which I’m working on)  This was 5 years of perfect payment history on a car loan I paid off 2 months early.  With that gone and all my current baddies no wonder my credit score is so low.

Re: paid auto TL has dropped off my CR

It fell off all 3 CRAs?  Wouldn't that be creditor driven then?  Does the aging process for a positive account age 10 years from date of last activity?

Re: paid auto TL has dropped off my CR

Yep gone from all 3 reports.  The loan was paid off in 2008 so I still had quite a few years left on my 10 year reporting history.  I've never disputed or questioned anything about the TL ever.  Is there any chance I can contact the creditor and see if there is a way they can report it??
