I don't have any experience with auto, but in general they are a fairly conservative lender, at least on the CC and mortgage side.

Wells Fargo (directly through a branch) Can be conservitive.
Wells Fargo Dealer Services (Can only apply through a participating dealer) is a full spectrum lending. They handle everything from subprime to A+ perfect credit. They are great people to work with and if your situation isn't perfect they will try to find a way to put a deal together for you.
They have an actual person who is based on one of over 50 local offices looking at your loan, not some computer.
I have a recently approve auto loan through Wells Fargo Delaler Services. My Hyundai dealership was able to beat myh CU's rate of 3.75 using them 3.49. Rate is the most important thing in my book. So, from that perspective. I like them.
