So I came out of the garden a little earlier than I had mentioned in my last post but here's an update for everyone.

Hit the LUV button twice today on my Cash Rewards NFCU card. Requested increase to 5,000 and instantly approved which means a soft pull and then I got to thinking that I "should" have more room per the NFCU CLI thread. Got brave and requested increase to 10,000 and was also instantly approved . I also applied for the NavCheck and requested 5,000 to be safe and was approved as well within the hour.

Last month I gave in to a Barclays offer since they kept bombarding me with offers and it was tempting. I was approved for 1,800 on that. Since my discharge of Feb 2012 I now have ~20,000 in available credit.

I want to thank Soulmaster, CreditAddict, and I am forgetting a few others who have been a motivating factor in my journey.

Scores have not reached the 700 due to apps etc but I was at ~674 18 months in so I think if I would have reached the 700 point but I am happy with what I have achieved. IT CAN BE DONE!

Sounds like there is still more room on your NFCU card if the last was instant as well. Maybe try sending a PM to NFCU and ask if they can increase your NavChek to the full $15k..they will counter offer if not approve you for the full amount. Awesome job with rebuilding though, scores are great and you seem to have a nice line up of TL's! Keep up the good work

Ah Scupra you're one of the ones I forgot. Thanks I think I'll do just that, I was a bit nervous but I did get a call from nfcu asking if I needed anything but call went straight to voicemail. I just didn't think my credit profile was there to be requesting credit in the. 5 digits.

Haha! It does feel weird, I just recently got my NavChek and it was almost hard to request $15k! Navy came through though and approved it. No matter what you choose, you have made some awesome progress so congrats is due! Nice work

You were right! I requested another CLI on my cashRewards and this time asked for 25,000 and was counteroffered 16,000. I also sent a PM and requested that my cashRewards be a Signature Visa and was also granted that request.

NFCU is amazing.
