Hello everyone ... I am so ready for this mess to be over with. I (we --- was married at the time of filing) filed for bankruptcy 9/29/2009. To date, I am STILL PAYING ($778.00 every 2 weeks), and there is nearly $4,400.00 Cash on Hand, according to National Data Center website. The Trustee makes disbursements once a month at the beginning part of the month, but so far, nothing has happened yet this month. National Data Center shows the following:
Date Petition Filed 09/29/2009
Date Plan Filed 09/29/2009
First 341 Meeting Date 11/20/2009
Date Case Confirmed 04/20/2010
Date Case Closed 12/02/2014
Also, Case Status is listed as "CLOSED AUDIT PENDING". I have to say, I'm about to pull my hair out. I can not get any response from my lawyer's office. (what a surprise) Maybe I'm looking at this wrong, as I was going by 5 years from date of filing, since payments began immediately. So, I am now going on 5 years and 4 months. Can anyone give me any insight? Do I need to just cool my jets?!
I appreciate any and all input.
Thx in advance!

Looks like your case is complete and the trustee is auditing the account before your discharge goes through.
Same thing happened to me... any overpayments will be refunded to you.
Confirm with your attorney... and cool your jets at the same time. The discharge is not a fast process. I made my last payment in Feb 2013 and didn't get the discharge till May.
I edited my post... 3 months.
I'd check with your attorney because case being closed means you are done with payments. I got the exact message on mine after I sent the final payoff and the trustee started the audit. I paid mine off in 3 years 10 months.
Yes, I would LOVE to check w/ my attorney, but they are terrible about getting back to me. I call, I leave messages, I email ... NADA. I guess my next move is to try and get someone at the Trustee's office. I'm not as much interested in getting that "Discharge" letter as I am in the auto-deductions from my paycheck every 2 weeks stopping. That is what has my knickers in a twist.
I will take your advice and cool my jets. I know the end is near. What an ordeal this has been. I guess it wasn't meant to be pleasant.
Thank you again.

Best of luck to you! Keep us posted!

Good luck and congrats on your journey! TRC is a great person to ask questions, he/she has done an AMAZING rebuild.
Thanks...
Patience is the key.
I'm so appreciative of your support here! When I didn't hear back from my attorney's office, I decided to reach out to the Trustee's office on Friday (which I did NOT really want to do). I got a prompt response from one of the Case Auditors, and she said she'd "get with the attorney" to see if she can send out a letter to my employer - said if she could, she will do so, and cc my attorney. So, patience it is. Fingers are crossed. Breath is held ... and the waiting continues.
Thank you again, all.
