Re: App spree (data points)

Justagirl73, thank you for the encouriging words. I'd also like to ask you, how many months after you were discharge before you apply for Penfed? What were your scores at the time?

Thank you for the feedback.

You will get there. Just remember, as a BK survivor, our cli and even approvals vary from profiles w/o BKs. Not always, but most of the time, that is the case.

For example, I was unable to get a cli with Penfed with in my 90 days, reason stated BK. Most are able to get one if the don't have a BK. I couldn't be upset because I'm high risk and they did approve me with 7.5k.

But in any case, all of our profiles are different, so results may vary 😁

Re: App spree (data points)

I went to Merrick pre-quialifier:

https://onlineoffer.merrickbank.com/default.aspx?code=UBRdbd895c473bc4586a583498cb0bb7e20

Got positive results (Pulled TU)

Decent card for people rebuilding.

Re: App spree (data points)

I have a dismissed BK 13 (voluntary). I paid/caught up on my own. If I knew then, what I know now, I would have just stuck it out. A dismissed stays on your CR for 10 years on EQ.

Anyhoo......after my BK, I didn't apply for any type of credit. I was basically in the garden and didn't know it lol. I just focused on building my savings to avoid the rocky path in the future. I was only paying on my student loans.

2014- bought a new car, APR 10.24%

2016- entered the revolving credit world due to being terrified to touch my savings for a new HVAC system.

June 16- Barclays 1k----1.5k had to recon

July 16- Credit One - cancelled upon receiving (does not show on my CR except for the HP)

July 16- Cap1 1k---> 1.6k

July 16 Discover Secured DENIED

July 16 Amex DENIED

July 16- Penfed 7.5k

Sept 16- WF 7.6k

Sept 16 Marvel 4K ----> 5k

Oct 16 NavyFed 10k

Dec 16 Discover Unsecured 1k

Dec 16 Cap1 5k

There is my story (cliff notes version).

This year, I plan to close Barclays and Marvel. The rest, I will combine (cap1) and focus on CLI.

Re: App spree (data points)

I included Syncrony bank cards in my BK, how long after you were DC did you apply and they let you back in? I would love a Lowes card to access the zero APR for some home improvements.

Re: App spree (New update 03/06/2017 NFCU)

I gave it a try just because I saw you were approved and we opened our CC with NAVY the same month, were approved for the same amount and were not getting CLI's. Before I hit the increase button, I gave my Equifax a good dose of liquid nitrogen to avoid a hard pull, however the increase was instant.
