I was wondering if it's a bad idea to apply for a card that soon? Capital one said they would increase my credit line on my platinum card from $1,000 to $1, 500 if I make my first 6 payments on time. If I get denied for a new card will that effect my credit increase chance? Thanks
Discharged June 2015
I would ask Cap1 for a CLI now and then apply for another Cap1
Okay thanks
No problem! Let us know the results!
Wow! I just asked for a credit increase on the website and it went from $1,000 to $2,500!! Thank you! So do I get a hard hit for the increase on my credit report?

It is a soft pull with Cap1 Congrats! Now go get a 2nd card
Awesome! Am I less likely to get approved now though since I have a new $1,500 increase in credit? Maybe I should just take the soft pull and call it a day.
Apply for Cap One QS1.
The fact that you got a CLI gives you MORE chance of approval for additional card, not less.
I know, it makes no sense.
I have had 7 accounts in the last 18 months. They are odd, but rewarding!
DON'T WORK FOR CREDIT CARDS ... MAKE CREDIT CARDS WORK FOR YOU!
I haven't seen anyone approved for one card and not the second from Cap1
Listen to what they say. Go to the preapproval site. If you have cards listed that you are preapproved for, apply for 2 of them the same day. It will use the same set of pulls. Good luck!
One caveat. You can only have 2 rebuilder cards I believe, so 1 Platinum and 1 QuickSilverOne, but you can get the Quicksilver Visa or VentureOne or Venture.
