If you haven't burned Honda, try your local Honda dealer. Each dealer will be different, I had a VW dealer try to double tag team me into buying a used car with 99,990 miles on it. NO Freaking way. It was scary and frustrating but I held my ground. Went to a couple of Ford dealers, one tried to do a trade in which got rejected by Ford and other lenders. Another Ford wouldn't even finance me a used Ford Fiesta. KIa wouldn't even touch me with my low scores.
I felt discouraged, disgusted but I got a call from a Honda salesman who I had talked to while waiting for my discharge. By that time I was like no way will they help but I went I was glad I did. Both the salesman and finance manager treated me like a human being, they didn't jerk me around. I test drove a 2015 Grey Honda Civic Coupe LX but they informed me that they could get me into a 2015 Silver Honda Civic Coupe LX that had been on the lot for 45+ days. So I was able to get a great deal that I will be able to refinance in about 6-12 months at a lower APR.
It's not hard at all. I included two vehicle in BK. Four or so months after I got a 3.9% from Mazda for 72 months. Downpayment is key. With no payment it was a no go. With $5k down on a 25k loan they couldn't print the paper fast enough.
